Coast and West Coast make this race one of the biggest in the country.

Just chillin' at the start line while the other 43 riders are pre-
riding the course. I walked the three mile course the day before
to save my energy for the actual race. My strategy worked, I won
the Cross Country Event on friday.

Everybody getting lined up for the start of the Moto-Cross on Saturday. My number is 44.

Christine tried to get me coming off the line, I got a great hole shot and led for a several laps.

Still leading the race but being charged hard by second place rider #39..

Last good shot before the crash, probably last lap coming off high speed jump. Crashed minutes later with severe injuries and hauled off to hospital for X-rays and exams. Took us over a week to drive home, stopped in Little Rock for more exams on the way. Guess I'll retire again............

GATORBACK NATIONALS, Gainesville, Fl. Feb. 2010

Not every race was a success, medic checking me out after
an incident with another car

A heat race win at the WinterNationals

My son Jimmy looking over the field as we lined up for our race.
He only got to race the events close to home, someone had to

Great fun when father and son can race together.

Jimmy at Indoor Track at Louisville Fairgrounds..

Chuck and our wives talking to Country Music Celebrity
Mark Collie at his big event in Nashville...Hot Night

Me and 'Number 1 Son' in the Winners Circle, Lanier Raceway GA
The locals were a little upset with us, they had been eyeing the big
trophy all season only to have an Out of Towner roll in and take it
away. This being their big Super Bowl of Racing Week. It was our
first major race in the new car.

Pit area in Nashville prior to Mark Collie Celebrity Race

Back at the shop repairing damages from last race

Jimmy installing headers, getting the new car ready to paint
and go racing...

prior to our race. Darrell later talked Jeff out of those sun glasses
at the drivers meeting...great fun.

Note collapsed hood due to force of air.

Putting on a new set of Hoosier Tires at Charlestown, Indiana.
Our best finish yet, new tires really help..Won $900, barely
making expenses.

My dad was always a big fan of Bobby Allison so during a rain
delay at New Asheville Speedway in North Carolina I got Bobby
to stop by our car and talk with my dad. Bobby was one of the
nicest drivers we met on the circuit.

Unloading on a hot day at Highland Rim speedway in Tennessee.
Rough old track and pit area. My dad raced here in the fifties.

My "Number One Son" trying to stay cool under the tarp while
the crew gets the car ready for the next race.

Up on the wall, even caught the wall on fire, lots of damage.
Too many fast cars on a very fast 1/4 mile banked track caused
several of us to end up like this at Highland Rim Speedway.

Damages from our first race at Beech Bend caused by an inexperienced flagman. Long story, but we never returned to
the local track with this car. Joined Nascar and started racing
in the All-American Touring Series.

Sitting in our garage is this recently purchased 86 Firebird for late model stock car racing. Just finished installing the engine.
Car was built by Bobby Ray Jones of Hueytown, Alabama for
